Intelligence and Contentment

Was chatting with Deepali when it came up that Intelligence and contentment go together..
I feel Contentment comes with Intelligence..
You dont have to have certificates to prove your intelligence...it can come in any form..But it normally precedes contentment

Finally saw the movie..man was it long!! But cant say I did not like it. It was a grand movie indeed. The number of people in the war scene was huge..could have been roughly the same as what the Mughals had!!
But the best part for me did not come from the movie but from the little girl sitting next to me. She asked her mom.." why do they sleep in their cotume dresses"
I did find it amusing and thought for sure these must be uncomfotable..no matter how soft the silk is but it still must be not the most comfortable night wear!!
When we the common lot wear our night clothes am sure the royalty could have surely been able to afford it..Something worth looking into !!

But the best part of the movie for me was not from the movie but from the kid sitting on the next seat. She asked her mom..."Why do they sleep in these costume dresses?" I did find it amusing..but then also thought these are the small details we miss out on...even in such grand films.
Even us the common lot normally would not sleep in the same clothes that we had worn though the day..then these royalties..would they have done it?? Even if they discard their clothes after one wear but it must be not very comfortable in sleeping those day clothes..hmmm something worth pondering about..

Driving!!

I have finally started to drive, wont say am still comfortable but am doing it. But my first instinct is to run away. AM not sure why do I feel that way but driving freaks me out. Everytime I am on the road, I see so many people driving around, infact some would be even eating, many would be talking on the phone, some even putting make up ( seriously have seen women do it..esp while getting onto the freeway!!!!) and I get amazed at myself..It must be super simple but then why do i dread it.
Everytime i know i would have to drive, my heart starts palpitating,wierd thoughts start coming to my mind..but once I am on the drivers seat it becomes a little better.
Though I must say Anshuman has been extremely extremely patient.
I hope someday I would be as comfortable driving as the other people on the road..although I would not want to do makeup!!!

After a long Time

Got down to blogging after a long long time..so much has happened.In October last year I finally hiked up the Mission Peak!! Not a huge hike just 6.5 miles but it was a good feeling. It actually felt nice. There was a time I felt so tired and thought would I be able to do but I knew if I did not do it now would have to do it all over again.
It was a different kind of experience. Must say enjoyed it.

Happy Moment for 12th Oct

Rather mundane but my highest point yesterday was when i cleaned up the house and the guest room looked really neat and nice. It made me feel good.

It's funny how at times, it can be difficult to find ONE happiest moment of the day. I did not think it would be so tough.. sure it get's me thinking now..really hard at times!!

And the thing is that I think positive now..and also believe this will have a long term effect in the sense that since there will be a pressure to have a happy moment, I would in some time, start deriving pleasures from things I do not think, at the moment, can be pleasurable or happy moments..Like cleaning the room!! I like my rooms clean but never thought that this could be the joyous moment of the day.

Am finally learning to enjoy everything that i do..and it sure is nice!!!

Happy Moment for October 11th

The Happiest moment today was when found 'jaun' in the Indian store. It's rather strange how we feel much closer to our culture when we are not really in our own country, how we try to do everything that we saw our parents do..I wonder if I would have actually grown jaun,( during navratrie the small pot of jaun which you grow and offer the grown grass/jaun to the gods). But here it, suddenly became so important. Went to the store in the evening and when I actually saw them in the shop, i was so happy!!!!

Animesh's birthday

It's Animesh's birthday today, but he's having exams hence cant have a party..well am sure over the weekend he will have a blast.

Starting with the Happiest Moment of the Day!!!

Getting back to the blog again..somehow lost my other blog, it's wierd everytime i try opening it, it just opens to a blank page, i wonder why, but as they say , WHATEVER!!

Am feeling a little low, maybe cause am alone in the office again and Mich has also gone off in the morning..well such is life.

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat,Pray,Live says that one should keep a happy moment journal..I think that's a wonderful idea..go back to it everytime you are low, and feel good reading them....I am going for it..
So let me see what was the happiest moment for me today...yes it was the time when Anshuman, Mich,Maneesh,Vick and I all were at the Black Angus having our dinner..Steak!!..It was really nice to be with Friends..Infact I cant call just a moment but a series of moments!!!
Good Food,Good Wine and Good Company..what a way to end the day!!

Feet Nibbling Fishes

Every Birthday party has a different flavour..for the six goddesses..Mellies was totally a new experience. after a nice scrumptious Chanpagne and Italian food lunch it was a surprise treat at sentosa..No one except Mich and Yvette knew what it was..Normally so far it was just the birthday girl who got a surprise but this time it was different..4 of us, Mellie (the birthday girl), Mel, Yinnie and me were in for a surprise..At Sentosa at the Underwater world ..no one really knew what it was till we saw the spa..ooh massage we all giggled..in we went with our Champagne bottles..and the friendly staff there helped us chill our bottles and allowed us to sit in the lobby/reception area and dunk down our bubblies..And then we were taken in..to a small shallow pool filled with small tiny fishes,,how cute we all thought till Yvette said okay lets sit with our feet inside the pool..really???can we do that?? and then as soon as the feet went it..these small fishes came in to nibble at the feet..dead skin!!! kinda gross..I was too terrified ( am not really the adventurous sort) Mel in her elements cried out to the fishes..meat fesh meat..!!! Yinnie and Mich had their feet in with Mich having a fishy footwear!!! ( gross yes again) Mellie and I still were gaping into the pool with experssions hard to put in words!!...Do we do that??? Legs still hanging a meter above the water...Great courage and there they went in.But as soon as the fishes came near to our feet..screaming we pulled them out!!!! Must say the people around were very patient..6 partly drunk screaming girls..anyways finally with a lot of encouragement from all around ,with great courage we did put our feet in again..It was kinda tingling sensation with the fishes biting... we sat there for about 15 minutes..Was a different experience..Though after this fishy ordeal the feet felt actually softer,shinier and nicer but I dont think i would ever go for it again...I am all for eco friendly things but for my next pedicure i would still fix up an appointment with the Pedicurist..No more fishy pedicures for me please!!!
